Gorgosaurus Thumbnails

These are a bunch of preliminary drawings for an illustration of Gorgosaurus that I had intended to submit to Prehistoric Times.  I was focusing illustrating the scenes that showed the dinosaurs feeding habits.  There are more than a few theories as to how Gorgosaurus and other Tyrannosaurs fed.  Were they solitary or pack hunters, scavengers, did they chase their prey down or were they ambush predators? So I tried to do at least one thumbnail corresponding to each theory. I also explored some ideas involving behavior pertaining to raising and caring for their young.

Chasmosaurus

So this is the first post on my new blog entirely devoted to my Paleo Illustration work.  This is Chasmosaurus a relative of the well known Triceratops.  Its name means open lizard in reference to the large openings in its frill. I have a colored version of this guy in the works but I'm not quite happy with the coloration yet so it might be awhile before that shows up here.  Anyway this guy was a lot of fun to paint I enjoy rendering reptilian skin so when ever I get a chance to paint scales I kinda go a little crazy.  Thanks for taking a look hope to have more soon.
